This was an older bandsaw (c. 1980) with numerous models with a similar part. Be sure you order the right parts, because while the models are similar, they are not identical. I had to grind off one of the pins that held it in place, because it didn\'t quite fit the bracket I had bought. It worked, however!

1. Measured difference in thickness between guide ways and replacement bracket.
2. Clamped bracket in customized X-Y drill press vise.
3. Using 3/8\" straight router bit and highest chuck speed, milled excess aluminum from replacement part\'s ways.
4. Had to modify adjustment nut to square up in bracket pocket.

Worked fine.

I have a Ram bandsaw, purchased in about 1985. The arm on the upper hinge broke, and in trying to get it apart I also broke the box it rides in. In the catalog, Jet parts looked very similar, so I ordered them. It didn\'t quite work, I had to make 5/16\" pins to fit the upper hinge, and the nut was 12mm instead of 1/2\", but the saw is wo rking again.
