Gas to burner excessive - flame lifting up on high setting and going out

18 year old Weber 1100, which I diagnosed as having worn gas valves, along with serious corrosion on the gas manifold. Burners had already been replaced, as well as regulator. Popped in a new manifold which has the gas valves as part of it...and all was well. I got the manifold with quick disconnect, which was my mistake: the quick discon nect is not used anymore. So I took it off and put on the existing regulator and hose. (Be sure to use gas pipe joint compound on the threads if you do this, or gas (yellow) teflon tape.) Love these old Webers - good for another 20 years! And appreciate finding parts at ereplacementparts.com - superb service!
