The hinge pin was deformed. Plastic button was not in the delivered parts.

The replacement hinge pin from you was twice the diameter that I needed. I tossed the new part into my bin and left things as they were leaving the damaged pin in place.. The plastic button was easy to put into place.

Apparently the hinge pin diameter was changed and you were not aware.
