This part comes directly from the manufacturer. This Regulator is used on many models of Presto pressure cookers. The Regulator helps to maintain an even pressure while food is cooking. This part should fit loosely on the vent pipe and will start to rock when pressure inside the pot reached 15lbs PSI. The Regulator should be replaced when the handle has come off or when it no longer fits correctly on the vent pipe.

Replacement parts came with easy instructions.
Just remove a couple of screws and one nut to remove the old handle from the lid. Installation in reverse order to fit the new handle onto the lid.
