Old filter frame broke and old light diffuser tabs broke due to age

Easily put new light diffuser in place, easily insert filter frame and was 3/8ö to short so got out caulk gun using GE silicone with wide tip and sealed air gap. When I have to clean filter I will just pull it out or cut slit down middle of gap and then pull it out, wash filter reinstall and use GR silicone again.

My old filter just needed replacement

I pulled the old filter out, and replaced it with the new one.
I did notice a funny noise when I turned the fan on. It was the fan hitting the filter. So, since the filter is aluminum, I just bent it downward a little bit in the middle and put it back up, and no more noise.
