Close gas line valve, disconnected all the wires and gas lines, removed the whole platform from the fireplace (easier to work on than from underneath), removed the pilot assembly, removed the valve, cleaned everything, replaced the main valve (be sure to tape/dope the threads to prevent leaks), replaced the pilot assembly with the new, c onnected the pilot assembly lines and wires to the main valve, replaced the platform, reconnected the main gas line, turned the gas line on and checked for leaks, turned the pilot on, checked again for leaks, switched on/off a few times, reassembled the logs, cleaned glass and cleaned up. Let the fireplace warm up for at least 3 minutes as that is when the leak showed originally throwing flames to the side. Check again.

I looked at how every thing was hooked up.
Found Replacement Parts on line.
Easy to order and price very good.
Used common sense to remove and replace old part.
Every thing worked out great the first time and I believe I save a lot of money not having a service tech to have to come over and do the simple repair.
