Loosened screws to cover of exiting material. Unscrewed and removed the 8 blade holding screws. Removed old blade, reversed it if the other side had not been used, which is the case here. Using the wrench provided with the planer and following the manufacturer\'s instructions the old knives were removed and new ones installed.
The original part number of the knife set was obsolete but was able to locate a replacement part number for this model of planer.

The tip of the wrench to remove the 14 screws snapped off with the first screw
I brought out my 20v impact driver, and found the correct screw tip. the screws backed out instantly....
Installed the new planer knives
I re-used the old screws because the heads were all in good shape.
Replaced blades with new ones and it went very smoothly the screws are very tight so you really have to crank down on em to break free but other than that went great but watch the springs they will fly if not careful
