2. Slide the housing, spring and lock washer onto bolt assuring you have gotten the spring tab into the slot of the bolt.

4. Screw the nuts onto the bolt leaving space between the inside nut and the housing.
5. Try the handles raising the chuck and determine if it\'s the lift you want.
6. If not, turn the housing a quarter turn counter-clockwise tightening the spring and raise the chuck again.
7. If it\'s the return you want, tighten the outside nut up to the inside nut. They do not have to be tight.
I ordered a v-belt thinking it should be replaced since I have used this drill press for 11 years, but the old belt is perfectly sound, so I will just keep it as a spare.

2. Removed coil spring cassette.
3. Installed new spring cassette.
4. Re-installed lock nut assembly.

Remove housing and spring fragments.
Replace housing and spring, being careful to engage tab in center of spring in slot on end of shaft.
Rotate housing CCW to tension spring enough to raise quill to top.
Engage housing in tabs on drill press body.
