Perhaps the screws securing the belt cover were torqued too tight at manufacture, don\'t really know. The screw ports just simply split apart around the mounting screws, so the belt cover just popped off with the screws and surrounding plastic remaining in place. Just took out the old screws and kept them, as the new cover does not come w ith more screws. Got the new one for $12ish and just screwed it right in. Ready to rock.

Handle and side cover cracked

Just unscrew everything and lay the old ones out with the screws in the old parts so you know where they go and swap everything over. One thing to note is on my 716 mitre box the handle does not have the small cover in the diagram (part#618270-00), it is one piece. That would be handy to know ahead of time so you can get the cover if your original handle did not have it.

I removed the handle , and trigger assemble and the belt still does not fit right. This is the second one you sent and it its the same. I dont beleve this is the correct part , but your service rep said all the DW 716 belt cover were the same. If that is true none of them fit.
I had to make adjustments by cutting the new cover to get it on the saw. It looks like hell.

Removed the arm assembly and replaced with exact matching parts from ereplacementparts. Went surprisingly fast. Originally told by others I would have to buy a new saw. Mine was no longer available for parts replacement. Right at 100.00 to repair, instead of 350 to replace.
