Older Fein oscillating multi-tool stopped oscillating. Motor ran, blade didn\'t move. The tuning fork lever in the tool head had snapped.

Pull on the tool head. If you are lucky, it will slide off the motor shaft.
More likely, the motor rotor will slide out of the tool with the tool head still attached since it is a press fit.
Use a heat gun to gently and slowly heat the tool head ... Read more to expand it slightly. Hold on to the motor armature being very careful to not damage it, and wiggle the tool head while pulling on it. It should pull free. Do not pry on anything! If the rotor slid out of the motor armature, you will have to take the housing apart so you can slide the rotor back in while holding the motor brushes out of the way.
The new motor head needs to be filled with grease. I just scooped the grease out of the old motor head and used that, adding a little new grease to it.
Now slide the new head back on to the body. It won\'t go on all the way because of the press fit bearing, but insert the 4 screws and alternately tighten them a little bit at a time and the new bearing will slide into place.
