Product Description

?

This Trigger switch has 4 terminals. This is an authentic Makita replacement part that is sold individually. Switches are commonly replaced parts in power tools, handling all on/off and variable speed operations. They also have a role in electric breaking; they can momentarily reverse electrical polarity. Because switches use mechanical internals, they will degrade and wear out over time, eventually requiring replacement. Some common signs of a broken or failing switch are: • The tool will not start when you use the switch, or it requires multiple tries to turn on, until eventually it refuses to start at all. • The variable speed function and electric braking aren't working properly.

After doing a continuity test to see where the power was not reaching, I decided that the switch was bad. So I ordered a switch and a new set of brushes just to get the drill as new working as possible. Success was the outcome and I am back to coreing masonary holes.

loosened 3 phillips screws holding 2 halves plastic handle . then remove 4 allen head bolts holding plastic handle to metal body. now remove phillip screws from handle to open 2 halves. remove 4 phillip screws holding wires to switch . best to do one wire at a time to keep from mixing up wire placement on new switch. install dust cover ov er trigger. reassemble 2 plastic handle halves, making sure not to pinch any wires. 4 allen head bolts attach handle to main body. pull trigger all works as new!
