1 Diagnosing problem, switch was removed and tested for continuity (failed).
2 Ordered the switch.
3 Installed the switch (of course installation screws had been lost in interim)
4 Scrounged replacement screws and put tool back online.

Could replacement screws be included with switch?

Was replacing the broken switch and thought to also replace the brushes as it is several years old

Simply removed the handle screws (4)...unplugged old switch, snapped in new... Put cover on with the same 4 screws, removed the caps over the brushes... Unsnapped old brushes, snapped in new...replaced caps.. Went back to using tool as normal. Easy fix.

Switch broke

Remove casing 4 screws. Swap wires from old switch to new switch, careful of positions of wires. Insert switch. Replace housing.

1. Removed screws from planer handle.
2. Removed screws from switch wires.
3. Removed broken switch and replaced with new.
4. Replaced switch wire and handle. Done
