Genuine Makita replacement part, this item is sold individually. The purpose of the Brush Holder Cap is to retain the brush in the brush holder. This Brush Cap is used on all the Makita models listed below. It is removed by using a slotted screwdriver Do not press too hard when removing the cap they do have a tendency to break.

1. Removed side handle cover
2. Disconnected old cord from trigger and ground lug, removed trigger
3. Removed strain relief clamp
4. Removed cord guard
5. Went to hardware store to buy 3 non-insulated connector eyes
6. Stripped wire ends and crimped connectors
7. Reversed disassembly above.
... Read more />This cord does not come with non-insulated connectors or stripped wire and exposed strain relief loop. There are no part numbers for crimp connectors needed.

Removed the bolts that hole the fence on the miter saw.
Removed the bolt that holds the saw body to the base plate.
Separated the saw body from the base plate and replaced slide plates.
Reassembled in reverse order.

This repair was simply a matter of unscrewing the brush caps, removing old brushes, and installing the replacements. I had purchased new caps in case I lost or messed one up, but didn\'t need them.

Removed brush caps with a screwdriver, then pulled out the worn brushes. Installed the new brush set, and the new brush caps.
