This is an authentic Makita replacement part manufactured for use with rotary hammers. The armature transfers electric energy into physical energy by rotating inside the magnetic field. The armature is one of two major parts of the electric motor. The armature does not often fail, but overloading the motor can cause it to overheat and become damaged. Signs of a damaged armature are excessive heat, smoke or sparks. This armature is a complete assembly including the pinion gear, fan, bearings, and washers. The armature assembly is sold as an individual replacement part.
