This cap 20 is an OEM part direct from Makita. Compatible with several saw devices, the metal cap is fitted between the o-ring and the retaining ring. This component is sold individually. You will need a screwdriver and pliers for making the replacement.

To change blade on circular saw, you must hold blade in place by depressing a plunger into the motor. Part of the plunger assembly, the plastic cap, was cracked.
1. Removed the broken plastic cap.
2. Pulled the plunger, spring and other equipment from the old plastic cap,
3. Installed the plunger, spring and other equipment into the new plastic cap.
4. Hand-tightened this new assembly into place.
