All of my power tools are cordless Makitas\'. Some do not have belt hooks. I added belt hooks to five of the cordless tools so that I would have them handy when working from a ladder.

Once the mount was properly in place, I drilled a hole through the side of the tool in which to mount a fastening screw; a hole narrower than the diameter of the mounting screw. If the screw was too long because it protruded into the area of the battery, I again used the cutoff wheel to shorten the screw and to point the tip. The tip was pointed by not cutting completely through the center of the screw.
I did this for each of the five tools that needed belt hooks. Finally I added clear silicone sealant around each of the modifying mounts. All mounts are secure and work as intended.
