I removed the bolt holding the pipe. I took a hammer and bolt of the same diameter of the pipe and pounded out the old pipe. I thoroughly cleaned the area where the new pipe would go. Then I tapped in the new pipe and put back the original bolt. Once completed the miter saw was able to move up and down as intended.
