Service change : This spindle has been changed because of a tendency to crack or break. The threaded section has been reinforced with more metal. Because of this change, there is no longer a threaded hole to accommodate a chuck screw. When installing this new spindle, simply thread the chuck on normally. Regular use will ensure a tight, secure fit without a screw present.

... Read moreove procedure to put all parts back in place, I placed some new silicone grease onto the drive gear and the reduction gear. I then replaced the gear case. I placed blue Loctite on the spindle threads and installed the drill chuck. I am happy to say that my drill is like new again. The new spindle was an exact replacement and was excellent quality. This is a great website, will use it for future needs.
