A 3mm was too small and the 4mm seemed too big but a 4mm finally won out. Got the saw that had little use as a basket case so ReplacementParts had the parts to get it back in operation. My free Makita Model: 5477NB cost me $37.00 in parts and shipping, an hours repair time for a $204.00 saw. And so end this project.
