Remove motor, separate spindle, armature, etc. The only difficult part was extracting the small roller bearing from the housing. I went messing with it and it was probably fine, but once I started I was committed. If it\'s fine, leave it be. Spindle, armature and brushes make the old saw perform like new for 1/3rd the cost. ... Read moret to grease the gears and pack gearcase with grease. If I hadn\'t ignored the saw, and serviced it every year or so, it probably wouldn\'t have worn out. Still, 15 years of service in general carpentry is a pretty good run.
