This replacement OEM sourced carbon brush assembly is specially designed for use with Milwaukee equipment. The purpose of a brush is to conduct the current by maintaining physical contact with an armature, over time components tend to wear out and they may begin to fail eventually requiring a replacement. This high-quality part is made of durable carbon material with an attached lead wire, keep in mind the holder is sold separately.
1. Removed case surrounding motor
2. Removed brush contacts from motor housing
3. Melted solder old brush contacts and removed from from power source
4. Soldered new brush contacts
5. Returned new brush contacts to motor housing in correct orientation
6. Reassembled case and handle assembly
Remove the handle, locate the brushes, Then unsolder the old brush leads and remove the old brushes. Solder the new brush leads, then place the brushes in the holders. Then put the housing back together.
Remove screws that hold body housing together, locate brushes, they snap in real easy. You can use a solider gun or small wire nuts on the wires. I used small wire nuts.
