?This is an authentic Milwaukee replacement part manufactured for use with hammer drills. The armature is the rotor inside the electric motor. This armature is a complete assembly including the fan, bearings, and pinion gear. The pinion gear on the armature is used to drive the gearcase. The complete armature assembly is available as an individual replacement part.

Brushes wore down and messed up the armature.

The drill has to be almost completely dismantled to replace the carbon brush field and the difficult part of that was to disconnect(the soldering) the wires and resolder the new wires to the on-off switch.
Again, with basic ele ... Read more ctrical and mechanical skills it can be done. The parts can be purchased for about a third the cost of a new drill. Reassemble requires patience
and not force it or the person will strip out the screw threads. Works like new and
getting ready to do another Milwaukee(the best) cordless drill.
