Removed existing fence which was bent

2. Reassembled in reverse sequence starting with new fence .
Old fence had bent very slightly and slipped out of seat. Would not cut square. Cuts square with new fence. Be sure nut is tight enough to hold square and firm, but d ... Read more o not over tighten. Probably over tightening had unseated original fence.
my error. fence was sitting on chop saw. I cut through a piece of wood and 3/4 way through the fence. It cut the rod also.

2. Removed the lock nut, washers, spring and end cam from the old rod.
3. Installed good parts from the old rod to the new one.
4. Positioned the new rod through the fence.
5. Installed the lock nut on the end of the new rod.
( Before disasse ... Read more mbly of the old rod from the fence, pay attention the rod position near the handle end.)
