This is an authentic replacement part manufactured for use with Ryobi sanders. The pad is used to mount the sandpaper and to provide a flat surface to support the sandpaper. This pad is available as an individual replacement part, please see model diagram for associative parts.
Repair could not have been easier. Simply removed 4 screws holding original pad, swapped for new pad and reinstalled 4 screws. Only took a couple of minutes.
