This is an authentic manufacturer made replacement part which is specially designed for use with Craftsman lawn tractors. The idler pulley applies tension to the belt which then makes the blade to rotate. This part is made of metal and is sold individually. Before installation, disconnect the spark plug wire and make sure the ignition key is removed. You will need a socket wrench and an open ended wrench to complete this repair.

Followed instructions on Youtube how to replace a belt and how to replace a blade.
I had to borrow a 15/16 socket and longer wrench to remove the blade bolt.
Once new items were in place on lawn mower, I ran mower with favorable results.
1. Raised unit for access
2. Removed covers and fairings on deck and engine for access
3. Removed seat from rider
4. Removed guard pin from idler to free belt
5. Removed and replaced bad belt with new
6. Re-installed items in 4,3, and 2
