The 1.65 mm single line spool attaches to the spool cap retainer. It is made of plastic and is sold individually. The spool is a genuine OEM sourced part which is specially designed for use with Toro trimmers. No tools should be needed during the installation of this part. It has an auto-feed head and comes pre-wound.

1. Remove power source (battery).
2. Remove the broken spool retaining cap.
3. Replace cord spool with a new freshly loaded one.
4. Secure with new cap.
5. Replace power source and test unit.
6. Good to go!
The replacement cap I purchased from ereplacement parts fit perfectly - just a matter of slipping it into the slots. I believe the replacement cap is stronger and works better than the cap that came with the trimmer!
