Had a broken rocker arm

2. Remove valve cover by loosening the 4 bolts. Mine was a Honda engine. Careful of gasket.
3.Remover the 2 nuts holding the rocker arm in place. Mine was broken in half so I just removed the 2 nuts.
4. Installed the new rocker arm on the rocker arm stud, lightly thread on first nut. Rotate the engi ... Read more ne crank shaft so that the piston was top dead center.
5. Tightened down the first nut just enough to slide the gauge between the valve tip and rocket arm.
6. Once the gauge was at the the right spec according to the engine specs, I tightened down the outer nut.
7. Replaced the valve cover with the 4 bolts, not a lot of torque on these bolts.

Loosen nuts to remove old rocker arm
,remove bent push rod
Replace with new parts and set valve lash with feeler gauge
Replace valve cover
Start engine
Stuck intake valve bent push rods and broke rocker arm. I had already pulled the head and removed the valve and cleaned the valve and valve guide while I was waiting for the parts to arrive.
