Product Description

?

Genuine Manufacturer Approved replacement part used on a variety of Power Tools. This Ball Bearing has multiple applications depending on your tool. This part is made out of Metal and it is Sold Individually. Ball Bearings are used to reduce friction between rotating parts. The balls or rollers take the load and spin, distributing the weight evenly while the minimal contact area of the ball reduces friction. This reduces wear on the tool and allows it to run smoothly. Bearings experience constant wear when the tool is in operation from pressure, heat, vibration and friction. Because of this, many Bearings need periodic maintenance or replacement. To replace this Bearing you would need a Screwdriver and a Set of Wrenches.

This is an older model Ryobi string trimmer, although not specifically in the \"Tool type\" category, They are the correct bearings, Confirm using the numbers found on the bearing seals. Remove the string head by inserting a flat screwdriver into the provided place on the front of casting for the guard assembly, rotate the string holder un til it locks in place in the slot.Grip and turn entire string holder counter clockwise to loosen and remove.Loosen bolt on power head clamp and remove locating bolt, these are metric bolts, be careful not to lose the locating bolt as it is a specific length. Entire power head assy should now slide freely off the goose-neck. Do not allow drive shaft to fall on the ground, or it should be clean and oiled before re assembly. Remove the lower drive nut by using a deep well socket on the upper drive hex in the power head. lock the drive nut as before and turn the socket counter clockwise. Using snap ring pliers, remove the lower snap ring (under the drive nut) retaining the drive/ bearing assembly, then tap on the socket to drive out the bearing assembly in that direction. It is a tight fit and can be made easier by warming the casting using a heat gun on the casting. Remove both old bearings, note the seals, be sure they face out wards top and bottom. Completely pack new bearings with a high quality, non fibrous grease before re-assembly. Clean all parts before re-assembly, ad re-assemble in reverse order. NOTE ON BEARING INSTALLATION, do not push or hammer on outer race or rubber seal as this will destroy the new bearings! Push on inner race only, When installing ASSEMBLY back into power head CASTING, push ONLY on OUTER race, again warming casting if necessary to ease assembly.
