Learned more than I wanted to know about the inside workings of a variable speed lathe. Had to open up the motor side variable pulley to get enough slack to get the belt on. Then had to compress the spindle side variable pully so I could get a clip on the shaft to hold the pulley on the shaft. Then I had to learn about the speed selec tion lever alignment. Initially I reinstalled it set at a super high speed. That was a matter of resetting it to what I think is a normal speed range.

My Jet wood lathe has 100\'s of hours on it the belt was worn out and the sheaves needed
cleaning and lubrication. All the service work was done while waiting for the new belt in the mail. After arrival it was a matter of a 10 minute install and now all works as it should.
Thanks
