This is a genuine OEM sourced replacement part used on Rolair air compressors. Its purpose is to filter out dust and debris from contaminating the engine. This filter is made out of paper, plastic and metal. This item is sold individually. To replace this filter no tools are needed. Simply remove the wing nut that secures the air cleaner cover and replace the filter element.

Removed the tubes from the unloader valve, and removed the unloader.
Installed the new unloader and attached the tubes
Removed the top of the filter assembly and removed the old filter and replaced it with the new one.
Removed the old drain valve, then installed the new one.

Head gaskets failed

The repair is fairly simple although it took some time to properly clean the old gaskets off. The only thing that was tricky was holding the metal strips (valves) in place while turning it up side down to put it in place. I used Vaseline to temporarily hold them in place.
