I have a Dewalt D55146 type 6 air compressor & it runs builds compression but motor will not stop.

Hello Manuel, thank you for your question. It could be because of pin hole leaks in the piping or fittings. Or, it could either be because of a faulty pressure release valve(N072023) or a defective Power Switch AB-9063158. We hope this information will help you.

Replaced pressure switch and gauges. Also changed drain to work better and placement of pressure switch so water cannot gather in it. Parts fit just like they were made to.

I pulled the hose off of the pressure switch. Pulled the pressure relief valve off. The pulled the switch off. Replaced the switch and the compressor is working great!

Removed old pressure switch and reused pop off valve and plug, but couldn\'t remove short nipple required to reattach switch to compressor got new one and everything went together great, runs again.

Broken pressure switch when the unit fell over.

1 Removed the handle to move the Dewalt air compressor.
2. Use bolt cutters to cut the hose clamp.
3. Cut the hose above the 90 degree fitting.
4 Use a pipe wrench to loosen the pressure switch.
5. Put the new switch on and tighten with the pipe wrench.
6. Took apart the old pressure switch. Air fittings and wiring harness.
7 Put air hose back on put on new hose clamp and rewired the harness.
8. Put the cover on
9. Put the handle back on and job complete.

Took off shroud around the electric motor and compressor. Removed the pressure switch and outlet tube. Reinstalled with the new parts. Then replaced shroud.

Pressure switch broken

Disconnect power
Remove screw on the cover plate
Disconnect blade terminals from switch noting location
Cut clamp from 1/2\" rubber hose
Remove Rubber Hose
Disconnect all torx screws from protective shroud around compressor
Unscrew pipe from old switch to compressor tank.
Transfer components from old switch to new switch as needed, using teflon tape and pipe dope on threads.
Install new switch to tank.
Connect rubber hose and install hose clamp (not included with pressure switch)
Reinstall electrical wires with factory spade terminals to switch
Reinstall plastic protective shroud around compressor head.
Install pressure switch cover.
Plug in, pressurize and check for leaks.
This switch was factory set for 200 PSI shut off

1. Removed metal cover to expose pressure switch and corresponding electrical, air lines.
2. Disconnected the power supply within the pressure switch.
3. Disconnected the air line from the pressure gauges.
4. Removed pressure switch assembly from the air gauge rail.
5. Swap all plugs and valves from old pressure sw itch to new pressure switch.
6. Reinstall everything in the same order it all came apart.
