removed rear cover using the torx driver.
loosened compressor head to remove the intake muffler and foam retainer.
twisted the muffler stem to the left and pulled to remove.
reverse the removal to install.
take your time and all should be good.

Cooling Fan Blade Broke

First. The fan broke because I did not unwrap the air hose around the space between the tank and compressor motor. When I started it up the fan hit the hose. Second. I was delighted to find I could get a replacement fan as getting parts for older models can be difficult. I bought this Sears unit in 1996. The repair was easy, a bolt an d a couple of panel screws.

removed plastic covers.and took cylinder apart.and replaced ring/was wore and got some fine sand paper and sanded sleve down alittlewas rough from ring bad could\'nt get a new one cuase
is obsolete. put back together works just fine now builds up air like it should easy fix

Tube from compressor to tank broke at ferrule

1. Removed shroud from compressor, removed old tube old tube.
2. Removed old \"O\" ring from broken tube, installed ferrule nut, nut and o ring on new tube.
3. Installed assembly between compressor output and tank. Tightened both nuts.
4. Started compressor, when up to pressure, checked for leaks. Replaced shroud and inserted new foam filter..
