This replacement filter element is an authentic OEM item that is commonly utilized on Campbell Hausfeld air compressors. Its purpose is to filter out dust and debris from contaminating the engine with the air that goes into the carburetor. Please note this felt filter element is sold individually. Replacing it is a very simple task that does not require any tools.
Removed old pressure regulator and pressure switch. Replaced steel pipe fitting from tank to pressure switch and pressure switch to pressure regulator pipe with new brass pipes. Used Teflon tape to seal connections and reassembled. Leak has gone.
