In my haste to get home for another tool for a job, I forgot to close my tailgate. I made a U-turn at an intersection only to hear/see a large tote box flying out of the back, as well as my Dewalt circular saw. After I retrieved those items I started thinking how much a new saw was going to cost me for my dumb mistake. Closer inspection s howed only the handle was damaged.
I ordered it for a very reasonable price and I had it within a few days. It took about 15 minutes to change. Just unscrew the old handle halves and piece together the new halves to assemble. Easy and so much more practical.
I\'ll always try to fix before I buy and these guys seem to have it all.

Dropped the saw right onto the handle; it split open and there were sharp splinters

1- remove the Torx screws from handle set
2- pull handle apart and pull down away from depth clamp lever
3- remove power cord restraint clamp
4- remove power switch set with trigger
5- there is one more screw to remove before the other half of the handle comes loose
6- when assembling the new handle, there ma y be a clearance issue with a small stud that touches one of the screws that hold the cord clamp. I just nipped it off and the handle snapped right together.
7- care should be taken in reassembly, don\'t over-tighten the screws, they just go into plastic.

Handle grip on Circular Saw was cracked and power cord was frayed...

Allen from Wrightsville, Georgia

Difficulty Level:
A Bit Difficult
Total Repair Time:

Tools:
Pliers, Screw drivers
Parts Used:

Quickly removed the screws from the handle grip, which also exposed the trigger start and power cord.
Easily removed the trigger and frayed power cord, and replaced with the new one. The only drawback was having to put a new contact ring on the new power cord, which only took an additional couple of minutes, since I had a tool box of these items on hand.
Once the new power cord was in place, it was only a matter of reassembly, which went without a glitch.
