This is a genuine OEM part. The chain catcher pin is made for use with many chainsaw devices. The durable metal component is considered a safety feature, as it is designed to keep the chain from flying from the bar if it becomes damaged. The chain catcher pin is sold individually. A hex key and a wrench set may be necessary for the installation. Keep in mind, the bolt or screw is sold separately. Please refer to the specific manual for further repair instructions.
