It is an authentic OEM sourced item which is specifically produced for use with Husqvarna and Jonsered chainsaws. The spring fits onto the knee joint and is made of metal. During installation, a wrench set, a screwdriver, and a set of pliers may all be needed to help replace this part. It will need to be replaced if it becomes broken or stretched. Keep in mind that this part is sold individually.
I removed the cover from the clutch side of the chainsaw, removed the cover from the chain brake spring with a screwdriver, and pushed spring into place with a long-nosed pliers. It is not easy to push the spring into place.
Removed the old parts and installed the new parts. Very easy job to complete.
The hardest part was putting the spring in place. To compress the spring , I used a medium sized flat screw driver and placed it in the end of the spring so it screw driver went part way in the spring and the wider part was able to push on the spring and w
