The dust protection is used to prevent sawdust from entering the rim sprocket which could potentially damage the rim sprocket. 1. Took the chain and bar off.
2. Removed the spark plug cover and spark plug.
3. Put a rope into the cylinder to keep the crankshaft from moving (important).
4. Used a socket wrench to remove the nut holding the clutch assembly.
5. Remove/inspected all parts in this area including the dust cover.
