Product Description

?

This is an original replacement part manufactured for use with Echo chainsaws. The oil strainer filters oil as its is picked up to lubricate the chain. Proper lubrication between the chain and bar cuts down on friction extending the life of the saw. It is recommended to check the oil strainer before each use, and to clean or replace as necessary to prevent blockage. The oil strainer is sold individually.

Removed the starter side housing, removed the in-tank feed through retaining screw. removed the feed through by gently twisting and prying on the flange. Being careful not to break the 50 year old plastic part. after removing the assembly, clean out the remains of the old in tank hose and strainer. remove the outer fuel line from the carb uretor. Then re-installed the new parts. make sure you replace the 2 o-rings on the feed through. also lubricate the o-rings with a bit of oil to make it easier to install back into the tank.

Hope this helps, not good at writing instructions, but I tried :-)

Echo CS 302 no oil was getting to chain

Pliers
Echo CS 302 . The oil nipple is located under the cap on top next to the body middle. ItÆs near impossible to get to. The replacement part I ordered here was the Same size as outside of connector, so it would not fit. I simply bought a piece of 3/16ö clear gas line and use curved Hemostats to insert the line OVER the entire connector. Thi s works fine and the oil filter has a nipple on the end and will work on this hose. It was hard to get to, so be patient, go slow and youÆll get it done. In the end, use need,e nose pliers to finish pushing hose on. It will go only about 3/8ö - 1/2\" until it reaches the end. Friction fit is all. I thought at first my cam was worn on the crank which operates the oil pump plunger. I was wrong. I removed the oil pump, put a pencil in, pulled the crank. The pencil jumped up and down showing me the cam lobe was OK
TEST THIS FIRST,,, And save you a Lot of grief ! Look inside the oil tank also for the hose and if itÆs connected. It dissolved, clean oil tank with Gumout carb cleaner. Working like new !!
