The front handle, rear blade guide and pulley tires needed to be replaced.

The front handle attaches with one Allen bolt.

The rear blade guide attaches with two allen bolts. One of the bolt holes in the new guide did not have threads. I ran a tap down the hole and it went on easily.

The pulley tires go on a lot easier if you take the pulleys off of the saw.

Disassembled the handle to expose the wiring and the switch. Removed screws to the front guide roller, track and armature housing. Used flat tip screw driver to gently pry the stator housing from the gear drive cover (there is a thin gasket between the 2 parts). Removed 2 screws holding the field windings and the brush/tube carrier housin gs. Disconnected the white wires from the brush carriers and replaced the housings, brush carriers and brushes (after reassembly). I stoned the commutators and reassembled the saw in reverse order. The band saw works like new and the parts fit perfectly.

I had to manually hand tap the four boss holes. I used a 1/4-20 pilot plug tap and a bottoming tap to get this done.

Missing parts and a scraping blade guard

It\'s a common occurrence, I needed a tool, but couldn\'t afford new. I\'d been watching eBay and a unit came up that looked like it had been through two or three careers. But I checked eReplacement Parts and saw that all the parts I needed to make it whole again were in stock. The replacement bands were easy to push onto the wheels, and the existing blade guard had a huge dent in it that made the blade scrape. It was a simple swap out with the new one using a few torx drivers. The front handle was missing, but that too was a breeze to replace with the brand new one. I put a touch of loctite blue and tightened it down with an allen wrench. The shoulder 3/8\" x 16 bolt provided by eReplacement Parts was a perfect fit. I also put in a new cord and cord protector. The hardest part was packing all the wires back in so the handle would close nicely. At the end of the day there are faster ways to cut metal, but nothing compares to the band saw in terms of accuracy. I can split hairs with this thing. Thanks eReplacement Parts!!
