Pull the brush springs back and rest them on the brush holders

After 30 to 45 minutes of use it started to get hot; weird noises
1) Removed the side cover screws and split the two halves.
2) Unscrewed the 4 head screws to remove head.
3) Unscrewed armature bolt to remove drive gear and release armature.
4) Replaced armature bearings.
5) Put armature back in head, install drive gear and retaining nut and grease gears.

Missing flange and worn out brushes on to different grinders.
1. Just installed the flange behind the grinder disk.
2. Brushes, removed four screws from the handle and separate. This exposed the brush assembly, Removed and replaced brushes and reinstalled the handle.
Removed electronics housing from the gear assembly
Had already removed the old brush assembly
Installed new brush assemblies
Replaced the plastic housing (this took two tries to get wiring in right spot to get a complete closing of the housing)
Viola: a new grinder
Referred to e-replacement parts You-tube video that showed, easy, clear instructions on replacing carbon brush set in my Milwaukee angle grinder. Removed both covers, unplugged old brushes that were were worn considerably upon inspection and replaced. The video was a huge help.
