This genuine switch is made by original manufacturer. It is compatible with various Milwaukee handheld power tools. This variable switch controls speed. Please note that this piece is also available in an electronics assembly set. One (1) black plastic on-off switch is included in this order. Fwd/rev shuttle (direction switch) is sold separately.

    Screwdriver, Pliers, Soldering iron, torx bit set

    Disassemble case and replace trigger switch. Had to cut two wires and re-solder. As far as the selector switch just pull out and replace.

    On off switch failed and worked intermittently

    Screwdriver, Wire strippers, soldering iron, heat shrink, heat gun

    1. Disassembled the impact.
    2. desoldered the wires from their respective points.
    3.unplugged the potentiometer to the switch.
    4. Soldered the new wires from the switch back to the correct points. Heat shrink the terminals to isolate them.
    5. Resembled and tested the impact.

    The tool fell and the trigger broke

    I removed the screws and using a flat screwdriver I removed the cover of the tool exposing the switch and I replaced the trigger and then I put everything back in place and the screws and that's it.

    The on-off trigger was bad

    , t10 security torx, soldering iron, wire strippers

    1. Use a sercurity t10 torx to disassemble the entire gun
    2. Cut out the two red wires and remove the old trigger
    3. solder the new trigger to the wires you cut. (use heat shirk over the connections)
    4. Put the gun back together
