the heater is full of fuel and when running get a strong fume smell and it will stop and e1 code pops up

Hi Bill, Thank you for your question. According to your owner's manual, the E1 error code indicates you may have incorrect pump pressure, a dirty input, output, or lint filter, a dirty fuel filter, a dirty nozzle, a dirty photocell lens, a photocell that is not installed correctly, a defective photocell, or an improper electrical connection between the main PCB and the photocell. You will need to inspect these parts to see which one is causing the issue. If you need to replace a part, please contact customer service and anyone will be happy to assist you.
