This authentic lock nut is supplied by the original equipment manufacturer for use with Ridgid table saws. It is a special component which helps to secure the handwheel. Over time thread may wear out or the hardware may simply get lost eventually requiring a replacement. Refer to the appropriate diagrams for your model for the exact location and the correct use of this lock nut. It is made of high-quality metal and is sold as an individual part. You would need a wrench to secure or remove this component.
Removed one piece that was messed up, then installed all the new parts, installed as the parts diagram showed, that I looked up on the net.
