Product Description ?

This is a genuine Black and Decker replacement part, it is sold individually. The lever regulates the amount of line that is fed from the auto feed spool. It commonly breaks, but is easily repaired. Remove the spool cap, then the spool, you can remove the lever from there with a pair of needle-nose pliers. New lever snaps back into place. Used with the string trimmers listed below.

    Underneath the string reel, there is a center pivot rocker arm (ereplacement p/n 90567076) which controls the string feed. This arm had the tip broken off. The arm is a very light press on fit on the center pivot. Note which way the arm goes on, then use a screwdriver to gently lift the arm from the center pivot post and press the new part on. Reinstall the string reel and you are done. Look Ma, no hands !!

    I removed the bottom cap, spring and spool. Then pulled out the broken lever and press the new one on. Then reassembled the other parts.

    Place the lever in first, placed string spool in position, then the spring, then the cap, and plugged in. Wow I did it. I am 81 years old, and I did it, and then went out and it worked beautiful.

    I removed line spool, popped of line feed assembly with a flathead screwdriver. Installed the new assembly by snapping it in.

    1. Took out the spool of line.
    2. Used pliers to remove the old lever.
    3. Pressed in the new lever with my thumb.
    4. Replaced the spool.
    5. Started trimming.

    Removed the lever with some pliers, and pushed new replacement on with fingers. Used screw driver to unscrew what was left of busted off blade, replaced it new replacement by using existing screw and screwed on. Works like a new trimmer. Thank you!
