My grinder has had a hard life. I use it all the time. It had gotten so hot that it melted the case where the bearing for the motor is centered in the case. This fixed it in about 20 min. Just take all the screws out, swap the parts over and put the screws back in. Like new again.

split the case in two, removed parts from both sides, made sure that i didn't break any wires and put it back the same way it came apart, be careful that you don't pinch the wires between the case halves, the one screw that was different was a torx bit that has a hole in it, that was at the bottom of the milwaukee grinder by the battery, that screw had a raised point in the middle, i think they call that a security screw

1, Removed gear case and handle ;by removing 9 Torx screws. The 10th screw was a security type Torx which I was forced to saw in half.
    2. Removed switches and motor.
    3. Soldered new brush card to switch.
    4. Reinstalled brush card and switches in new handle. (The heat from the motor bearing had melted the case and allowed the armature to rub against the stator). Bearing inspection did not show anything wrong the bearing.
    5. Reassembled with only 9 screws.
    6. Enjoyed the pleasure of a successful repair.
