I have oil (Broken down Grase, I assume) dripping down the mixer shaft. Is it deteriorated grease only or could it also be a shaft sheal of some type?
James For model number KSM150PSGC0 - February 24, 2023

Hi James, Thank you for your question. If you have oil leaking from your mixer, it is coming from the gearbox. The grease inside the gearbox has separated causing the oil part of the grease to leak out. Grease can separate as a result of age, overuse, or underuse. The part number listed under your model number for the grease is W11200218. If you would like to place an order for it, please call our customer service line and anyone will be happy to assist you. We look forward to hearing from you! If you have any questions, please let us know. We look forward to hearing from you!

Followed your you tube video. Clean ALL old lubrication out from everywhere so it does not remain in the unit to drip. Really polish up all gears to be free of old grease. Use denatured alcohol, Q-Tips and paper towels. Reassembly a breeze. Just follow the excellent video. Replacement grease will be as dark as original...not the cream col or that appears in the video...this is OK.

I removed one screw from rear trim that exposed four more to be able to get into the mixer. Then removed four more screws to get into the grease case that holds the gear assembly. Removing the \"pin\" requires a special pliers and there\'s no way around it. I went to auto parts and was recommended one that had adjustable tips ($11.99) but found out the tips were just a little too large to catch the \"pin holes\". This is the only step that took me hours to complete. After trying to file down the tips it showed to be working but still didn\'t have the pressure enough to release the pin. I used a screwdriver and pliers to carefully push the pin in an upward direction to remove the pin and be able to remove the broken down gear.
I removed the pin finally after struggling for two hours. I cleaned and removed all the old grease and replaced the gear and replaced the new gear and new grease and seal. After sealing it back, mixer worked like a champ again.
I exchanged the pliers for a better quality set (19.99) and will be repairing our second mixer, the pin came off in less than 5 seconds with the right pliers.
Thank you for having the parts available. Your customer service rep was top notch help.

I picked a how-to repair your mixer clip on Utube that was sponsored by Ereplacementparts.com, by chance. The video was very precise and easy to understand. Afterward I completely disassembled the planetary and removed the contaminated grease. I removed and lubricated the lower unit, then installed it and the new worm follower gear along with the reuseable parts. I then greased the upper planetary and reassembled the mixer. Thank you for your fast delivery of parts and easy to follow instructions.
