What is the difference between type 1 and type 2 saws. Is there a marking on the saw?

What is the difference between type 1 &2?

Hello Bernard, thank you for your question. Our research indicates that Type 1 is made in Canada type 2 is made in Taiwan. There really isn't any difference between the one and two except where it was manufactured. The Bar is the same part number for each type. We hope this helps.
