Product Description

?

This genuine manufacturer-sourced check valve assembly is designed for use with select Coleman lanterns and stoves. Made of durable brass, the assembly includes both the check valve and the air stem. The air stem threads into the check valve and is operated using the hollow pump shaft. When turned counter-clockwise, it opens the valve to allow air to pass through, regulated by the internal check ball. When turned fully clockwise, it securely closes the valve. This OEM part is sold as a complete unit and is essential for maintaining proper pressure control in compatible Coleman fuel systems.

Disassembled the lantern to include valve assembly and the safety check valve. Cleaned the valve stem with a brass bristle wire brush. Installed the valve stem packing verifying fit and ease of operation of the valve. Installed new check valve and air stem and installed new pump plunger. Once the new parts were installed, pressure checked the system and tightened the valve stem assembly in small increments until the valve stem no longer leaked. Reassembled the lantern and tested the operation. Lantern is operating like new and will have many years of use again.

So I scored a deal on a Coleman Dual Fuel 424 w/standard ignition at Walmart. $35 OTD, but was missing the pump assembly ($10) and air-stem off the check valve and the fuel reservoir cap ($11.55 + $5.25 shipping).

Removing the check valve was kind of a bear. Date code on the stove was Feb 2012, 61 months since manufacturing. So who knows how long the reservoir pump orifice had been opened to the elements...
After filling the pump orifice with a teaspoon of penetrating oil and letting it sit for 24 hours, I used a large flat-head screwdriver to break the check valve loose. I drained the oil out, inserted the check valve, inserted the pump assembly onto the CV. Installed fuel reservoir cap- BAM! New $120+ stove for under $62.
Thanks E-Replacement parts.

I also have a 31 year old 425f that was my father\'s. White gas it\'s entire life. Starts up every time. Never have had to clean the generator.. When it comes time to repair a part of it I hope E-Replacements is there. To keep these Coleman\'s to last as long as their purchasers.

2) Replaced main valve and generator. This is sold as a single part. Drain the fuel tank. Unscrew valve from tank. Screw in new one. I did use gas resis tant Teflon tape on the threads.

Quick remove and replace of the pump cup/plunger. Very easy. Very Effective.
Also bought a new air stem because the check valve sometimes leaks a bit. I don\'t need this part yet but wanted it on hand.
Also removed the gas generator and re-sealed the threads since they were leaking a bit.
Stove works like new now. Pretty hard to kill these older Coleman white gas camp stoves
