This genuine OEM sourced replacement ball bearing is a standard item which has multiple uses on a variety of power tools. Please check diagrams for proper application of this item. The bearing is specially designed to reduce friction between rotating parts. Over time it will wear out, at this point it should be replaced. This is a sealed metal bearing and it is sold individually.

Removed the brushes from both sides of housing. Separated the housing from the gear housing buy removing 4 screws. Removed the armature from the housing. Used hammer and punch to drive off the bearing from end of armature shaft. Carefully set the new bearing on the shaft and tapped it on with the hammer. Installed the armature and housing in reverse.

1. Removed drive roller housing and covers.
2. Pulled drive gear off of drive shaft.
3. Removed c clips.
4. Replaced bearings.
5. Reinstalled clips, and drive gear.
6. Reinstalled housing and covers.
7. Tested good.

I removed all the screws from the drill body using an extended length torx bit. I believe it was a number 5. Pulled off the gear box, then pulled out the armature that had the bearing pressed on. To remove the bearing required a little creativity. I just slid a pair of needle nose pliers under the bearing and used a vice to support the ar mature. I then used a pinch and hammer to tap the armature shaft out of bearing. I then carefully tapped on the new bearing. The entire trigger assembly needed to be disconnected to allow removal of the field from the old housing. That essentially allowed the field to slide out but when installing the field into the new housing, I had to carefully tap in the field assembly to seat it correctly. Care needs to be taken when removing one of the black wires into the trigger assembly. There is a hole that one of the black wires inserts into it which has an internal clamping mechanism. A very small screwdriver was used to insert into a hole adjacent to the wire that will release the internal clamp. IGÇÖd recommend that photos be taken before removing wires so you will know where the wires reconnect to the trigger assembly and brushes. I assembled in reverse order and the drill works as good as new. What most likely saved me from further damage is I stopped operating the drill upon first seeing it malfunction but not before the drill body housing became melted and the bearing seat became out of round thus allowing the armature to flop around inside the field. In all I think it cost me around $30 to fix.

Replaced brushes and a bearing

Replaced the brushes by removing screws that hold the brushes in. Then I removed the old brushes and installed the new ones. Replaced the screws.

Removing the bearing took some time to decide the best way. I ended up using my press after making a jig to fit around the bearing, was no problem at all..........Thanks for the fast service on the parts...
