This steering shaft adapter kit is a genuine OEM replacement kit used in lawn tractors. It includes one splined adapter and one tapered adapter, used to connect the steering wheel to the steering shaft. The steering shaft adapter should be replaced if it is corroded, damaged or the threads are stripped as this can result in instability and loss of steering control. Remove the steering wheel insert and retaining nut that secures the wheel in place. Pull off the steering wheel to access the shaft adapter. Remove the adapter and clean the mounting area to ensure a good fit for the new part. Position the new adapter on the steering shaft, reattach the steering wheel and insert.

Remove the steering wheel insert, then the jam\\b nut and washer, then the steering wheel. Remove the defective adapter and install the new one. Then put all of the parts back on. Done
Remove wheel insert, Then remove the bolt. Pull of the the wheel, then remove the old adapter and install the new on. Then replace the parts that were removed.
1. Removed bolt cover from center of steering wheel.
2. Removed bolt & washers from the steering shaft.
3.. Removed steering wheel and pulled out the old adapter.
4. Inserted new adapter in underside of steering wheel.
5. Remounted steering wheel on steering shaft.

Took off steering wheel. Modified one of the bushings they sent so that it would slided down the steering shaft into place and keep it from flopping. I dont think they knew which part i needed but I made what they sent work.
Removed steering wheel by removing plastic insert in center of wheel and then nut holding steering wheel. Wheel just pops off

For adapter, just removed nut holding steering wheel on and replaced rubber adapter with metal. Two different adapters came as one part number, just used correct one
